Role Overview

The Accountant Officer will be responsible for the company’s receivables, ensuring the timely collection of payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting overall accounting operations. The role requires strong knowledge of accounting principles, ERP systems, and attention to detail to support efficient financial management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time

  • Monitor customer accounts and follow up on outstanding balances

  • Manage accounts receivable aging and collections

  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger with general ledger

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in customer accounts

  • Generate and manage invoices using Electronic Billing Machine (EBM)

  • Ensure compliance with RRA tax regulations (VAT & EBM)

  • Reconcile EBM reports with accounting system and POS data

  • Identify and resolve variances between EBM, POS, and system

  • Post sales, receipts, and journal entries in accounting systems

  • Maintain accurate records in Xero, Odoo, QuickBooks, or SAP Business One

  • Ensure proper data accuracy and system integrity

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations:

  • Prepare AR aging reports and support financial reporting

  • Support month-end and year-end closing

  • Assist in audit preparation and documentation

  • Collaborate with sales and operations teams for accurate billing

  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

  • Minimum 2–3 years of accounting experience (Accounts Receivable preferred)

  • Experience with EBM and Rwanda tax compliance

  • Experience using:Xero, Or Odoo,QuickBooks 

  • Experience in EV industry is an added advantage
